Timeline From October 11, 1911 to February 12, 1912
-The 1911 Revolution was caused when a group of revolutionaries in southern China started a revolt against the Qing Dynasty. The reason for it was so they could vote for changes in their community rather than just getting told what was going to happen. The revolution officially started on October 11, 1911 and ended on February 12, 1912; lasting a total of just four months and two days.
-June 1911, the thing that precipitated the event for the 1911 Revolution was the Railway Protection Movement that came out in Sichuan then followed with the mobilization of New Army units in Hubei.
-About halfway through the revolution, when things really got rolling, was when the accidental bombing in Wuchang exposed many republican soldiers. The soldiers rebelled against the proper authorities, took over Wuchang and created a rebel government.
-The nationalisation of the railways raised various Railways Recovery movements. Many nationalists, students and local investors rallyed in defiance to the Qing government.
-The end of 1911 is when the disagreement with the Qing Dynasty took place. The success of the Wuchang rising inspired rebellions in a multitude of cities and regions around China.
-At the end of the revolution, Republicans led by the newly returned Sun Yixian formed a national government in Nanjing- however they had to sell a deal to obtain the military backing of General Yuan Shikai.
