Underlying Causes
The Chinese revolution had many underlying causes that triggered the revolution. First, China was under the laws of the imperial system which is a dictatorship ruled by Emperors and had a class system; the people were no longer happy. So the Chinese revolted to try to change their form of rule, thus leading to the revolution. Also, when the current Empress Cixi had died, her son took over at a young age being unfit to rule causing the government to be compromised. Finally, the people were dissatisfied by how the government was spending the money loaned by the four-power group of foreign bankers to build a railway line in Sichuan. The borrowed sum didn't meet the demands of the stock holders causing a revolt and having many young officers join the revolt making the government weaker. Thus as a result of all of these causes a revolution began to form.
