Consequences
The 1911 Chinese revolution was a success, completing the goal of overthrowing the Qing Dynasty to create a republican government, not a monarchy. When the revolution ended on February 12, 1912 a president was chosen and the Republic of China was formed. One reason the revolution was a success was because it provided a change in government giving the opportunity to appoint more capable people into power. Also, the people became the essential foundation to the country and its government. After the revolution, political modernization took place because the monarchy was dissolved causing the government to change the way it governed. The revolution did indeed have a lasting impact on China and the world because it ended the imperial system and promoted the republic among the Chinese people preventing a monarchy from resurfacing. The 1911 revolution did establish a republic however to this day Chinese citizens don't have freedom of speech and the government violates citizens rights making it an unfair government. China probably would of taken significantly longer to end the Qing Dynasty without the 1911 revolution. The 1911 revolution accomplished its goal of overthrowing the government's dictatorship and creating a republic.
