Primary Sources from the Chinese Revolution
The Abdication Decree of Emperor Puyi was issued, February 12, 1912. This decree formed the beginning of the Republic of China. Officially dissolving the monarchy and forcing Emperor Puyi to step down from leadership. This decree successfully ended the 1911-1912 revolution.
